The Other Tokyo Go-Kart Operators

Tokyo's smaller go-kart operators compared: ShibuyaKart's 45 to 90-minute tours, JAPANKART's long routes, Tokyo Z Kart's electric karts, Kira-Kira!, BIGFOREST, AIPA, culturebox, Monster Kart and the Viator-only shops.

Updated November 2026

Beyond Street Kart, Monkey Adventure Kart, Akiba Kart and Kartzilla, more than a dozen smaller operators sell kart tours in Tokyo. The one most worth a look is ShibuyaKart, whose tour comes in three lengths: from US$63 a person for 45 minutes toward Shibuya Scramble Crossing, US$94.65 for an hour and US$113.58 for 90 minutes out to Tokyo Tower on the dates we read (checked November 2026). Despite the name, it meets in Shinagawa, not in Shibuya.

The bigger operator’s shops for orientation: Street Kart in Shibuya, Akihabara, Asakusa, Shinagawa and Tokyo Bay (Shinkiba), and City Circuit Tokyo Bay in Aomi. The smaller operators’ start points are in the text.

ShibuyaKart (Shibuya Kart on its own site) gives its pickup address since 1 August as 1-21-8 Hiratsuka, Shinagawa-ku, and its site gives no Shibuya address (ShibuyaKart, checked November 2026). ShibuyaKart’s GetYourGuide tour has 1,049 reviews and three options: 45 minutes toward Shibuya Scramble Crossing; an hour that adds Omotesando and Harajuku; and 90 minutes past Tokyo Tower, Roppongi, Omotesando and Harajuku to the crossing. A guide, a safety briefing, photos, the kart, fuel, a costume, lockers and insurance for the driver are included; insurance for the kart is not.

It is strict about documents: hard copies of a 1949 Geneva permit only, no refund without a permit valid in Japan, a warning that the UAE’s blue booklet permit “is not recognized by the Japanese police”, and a request that drivers from India contact it before booking. Its own site says drivers must be 18 or over.

JAPANKART runs the longest routes: its Shibuya and Shinjuku tour takes 2 to 3 hours with a break and photo stop at Tokyo Tower, starts from one of two points depending on the option, and includes jackets in the colder months. Its listings promise a full refund if it cancels for mechanical problems or kart availability.

Tokyo Z Kart starts at its Liberty Walk x TokyoZ store in Sakuragaoka, Shibuya, then spends 50 minutes on an electric kart through Shibuya behind a guide car. It takes drivers from 145 cm and up to 140 kg, and asks Japanese residents for a Japanese licence.

Kira-Kira! Tokyo! Tours! runs 100 minutes to Shibuya Crossing and Tokyo Tower, with fuel, a live guide, photos and costumes included.

culturebox sells electric-kart tours in Shibuya and Asakusa with a happi coat. Both listings were rated below 4.3 when we read them (checked November 2026): 4.2 for Shibuya and 3.5 for Asakusa. Both also say that a booking cancelled within 24 hours of the start is non-refundable.

GetYourGuide shows the provider name, not the brand.
