Kartzilla’s rules

Illustration. Towards the tower at blue hour.
  • Documents. The original of your home licence and an International Driving Permit under the 1949 Geneva Convention, plus your passport. Licences from Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco and Taiwan need a Japanese translation; drivers who need help with one should contact Kartzilla a month ahead. US forces use a SOFA licence. Without the originals the tour is cancelled with no refund.
  • One person per kart. Kartzilla has no karts that take more than one person (Kartzilla, checked November 2026).
  • Insurance. Japan’s compulsory vehicle liability insurance is included; kart insurance is an option at JPY 1,500 a kart on this tour.
  • Costumes. Your own road-safe costume is welcome on the tours above, but Kartzilla’s FAQ page rules out bringing one, so ask before you pack it. “Kartzilla is not affiliated with or endorsed by any third-party character or brand owner”, in its own words.
  • Cancelling. A full refund up to 24 hours before.
